Dhanush and Simbu, who were once deemed as rivals, have sorted out their differences and have become good friends.
The two successful actors of south Indian cinema are joining hands for a Tamil film titled "Kaakka Muttai".
According to reports, Simbu will be making a special appearance in the film jointly produced by Dhanush's Wunderbar Films and Vetrimaaran's Grass Root Films.
Simbu will be appearing as himself in "Kaakka Muttai", which is based on slum-dwelling children. This is not the first time that Simbu is doing a guest role in films. Recently, he did a cameo in Santhanam's "Kanna Laddu Thinna Aasaiya."
However, it is not clear if Dhanush will be sharing screen space with Simbu in "Kaakka Muttai."
The film, written and directed by Manikandan, is Dhanush's second production venture following the success of "Ethir Neechal."
Expectations on the film are high considering the fact that Dhanush and Vetrimaaran have previously worked in two critically-acclaimed and commercially successful films - "Polladhavan" and "Aadukalam." Music composer GV Prakash is helming the soundtrack for "Kaakka Muttai."
The shooting of the film is progressing at a brisk pace and is expected to be completed by the end of the month. "Kaakka Muttai" team is confident that the film will bag many awards, reported Behindwoods.
The makers of the film are reportedly planning to release the film in the month of December. After "Kaakka Muttai", director Velraj's "Velayilla Pattathari" (Jobless Graduate) will be the third film to be produced under Dhanush's banner.
The actor plays the male lead role, while Amala Paul appears as his love interest. This will be his 25th film of the actor who is on a roll post the success of his Hindi debut "Raanjhanaa" and Tamil film "Mariyaan."
"Velayilla Pattathari", a comedy caper, focuses on rising unemployment issues. It has music composed by Anirudh.
