The whole South Indian film industry is uniting for Vikram's "Spirit of Chennai" song. Stars from four industries are coming together for the song, a tribute to the selfless volunteers who worked on Chennai flood relief last month.

But one man is apparently missing from the scene: Simbu, who is in the centre of the beep song controversy. This has paved the way for rumours that STR could be ignored by the "Spirit of Chennai" team.

Simbu's absence is conspicuous, and speculations are rife that the actor could be ignored over his recent beep song issue. Chiyaan's team might not have anything against STR, but are certainly wary of his recent bad public image, say rumour mills.

Chiyaan and his team are working hard to ensure the song hits the headlines for all the right reasons, and Silambarasan's presence could spark unnecessary controversy. Thus, it is best if the "Spirit of Chennai" team play safe by keeping him out of the song, the rumour mills add.

However, this will definitely disappoint SImbu's fans, who believe the "Spirit of Chennai" song would have given an opportunity for the actor to regain his good image. All they hope is that the Chiyaan's team changes their stand and ropes in STR to lift the spirit of the song!

"Spirit of Chennai" is being directed by produced by Vikram. The number has been written by Rokesh, Madan Karky and Gaana Bala, and the music composed by C Girinandh. The song praises the relentless work carried out by people voluntarily, cutting across all barriers, when Chennai was affected by heavy rain and unprecedented floods last month.

Stars like Abhishek Bachchan, Ram Charan Teja, Puneet Rajkumar, Yash, Suriya, Arya, Vishal, Bobby Simha and Nivin Pauly are part of this song, which will be released soon.
