Now that the issue refuses to die down, Simbu himself has made a formal statement.

The Coimbatore Commissioner of Police has asked Simbu and Anirudh to appear before him on 19 December after a case was filed by the All India Democratic Women's Association. Anirudh is presently in Toronto and is yet to return to India.

The controversy broke out after a song crooned by Simbu and composed by Anirudh was leaked. It was instantly called the 'beep' song by audience on social media as the beep sound has been used every time singers used vulgar words. The song, which went viral in no time, is mostly about women in a negative light and drew huge criticism.

It is said that the song, composed two years ago, was a private thing restricted to Simbu and Anirudh's group of friends. Some miscreants reportedly leaked the track online putting the duo in trouble.

While Anirudh has denied his involvement in the song, Simbu's father has admitted that they had worked on the song, but the original track does not have cuss words. According to him, the track has been modified by some miscreants, who then put the entire blame on his son and Anirudh.

Nonetheless, there is no confirmation that they were a part of the track yet.
