The two-day gala function of SIIMA awards saw the best of South Indian cinema. The award function, held on 12 and 13 September in Kaula Lampur, commemorated the pioneers of South Indian film industry.

The award function honoured the winners in various categories of Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam industries. In Kannada, it was the block buster film, "Googly", which won highest number of awards.

The film won total of four awards. Vaidi S won the award for the Best Cinematographer, Ravi Verma won award for the Best Choreographer and Pavan Wadeyar won the award for the Best Lyricist and Best Director.

Shivarajkumar won the Best Actor Award and Aindrita Ray bagged Best Actress Award for their performance in the film, "Bhajrangi". The critics award for the Best Actress was won by Amulya for her performance in "Shravani Subrahmanya". Meanwhile, "Myna" won the award for the Best Film.

Puneeth Rajkumar was honoured with the Youth Icon of South Indian Cinema Award and actress Trisha was given award for the Most Popular in South India on Social Media.

The veteran director K Raghavendra Rao and actor K Bhagyaraj were commemorated by Life Time Achievement Awards. Meanwhile, Telugu actor Chiranjeevi was honoured as Ambassador of Indian Cinema.
