Malayalam actor-director Sidharth Bharathan who has recovered from a major car accident, is reportedly planning to turn script writer for a film with superstar Mohanlal in the lead role.

Sources close to the director say that he has been advised to take atleast three months rest and reports suggest that Sidharth will be handling the pre-production works of his upcoming film during the recovery period.

If the latest reports turn true, it will be Sidharth's third project as a director. He had earlier turned director for the remake of his father Bharathan's popular film "Nidra" (1981) in 2012 and Dileep starrer "Chandrettan Evideya" in 2015.

It has to be noted that even before the fatal accident, Sidharth had plans to rope in Mohanlal for his upcoming film. The duo had worked together in Ranjith's 2012 film "Spirit".

Son of late filmmaker Bharathan and actress KPAC Lalitha, Sidharth had suffered serious injuries in a car accident near Vytilla, Ernakulam on 12 September. He was discharged from the Medical Trust hospital in Kochi on 2 October.
