Shruti Haasan is the most popular south Indian celebrity on Twitter. The actor has more followers than several popular stars of South India including Rajinikanth, Dhanush, Telugu actor Mahesh Babu, Siddharth, Samantha and Trisha.

Shruti Haasan, who joined Twitter in 2009, has 1.22 million followers. "Jigarthanda" actor Siddharth has 1.11 million followers, while Dhanush and Trisha have 8,72,000 and 9,02,000 followers, respectively. Telugu actor Mahesh Babu, who has completed 15 years in the industry, has 820,000 followers on Twitter. "Anjaan" actor Samantha has 649,000 followers, whereas superstar Rajinikanth has 762,000 followers on the micro-blogging site.

Shruti expressed her happiness and thanked fans for making her popular on Twitter.

The actress is on a roll with back-to-back successful films. Shruti has been doing films in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi film industries. The "3" actress has had a fantastic year so far with two of her Telugu films turning out to be big hits.

"Yevadu" was her first release of the year and the action entertainer performed well at the box office, thus becoming a successful film. Her second project "Race Gurram" is the highest grossing Telugu film of 2014.

She will next seen making a special appearance in Mahesh Babu's "Aagadu," which is expected to hit the screens in September. The gorgeous actor will be matching steps with Mahesh Babu for an item song rendered by her.

In Tamil, Shruti is shooting for "Poojai" starring Vishal. The film, directed by Hari, is touted to be an action entertainer. Shruti will be playing a modern girl who is just out of college.

The film is set to hit the screens for Diwali in October 2014. She is all set to team up with Ilayathalapathy Vijay in his next project to be directed by Chimbudevan. The film is deemed as a fantasy entertainer and is expected to go on floors soon.

The busy actor also has a few Hindi projects in the pipeline. She has Akshay's "Gabbar" and John Abraham's "Welcome Back" and "Rocky Handsome", and Tigmanshu Dhulia's "Yaara."
