Nokia 3310 (2017) was the cynosure of all eyes at this year's Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, even stealing the limelight from Nokia 3 and Nokia 5 that were also announced. Why was that? Well, the nostalgia factor is huge among the users of the earlier handset that was launched with the same name more than a decade ago.

Nokia 3310 (2017) has finally come to India, days after it was made available in select countries. It is priced at Rs 3,310 and available with Nokia dealers, but not online. However, Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 are expected to be released in India only in June.

The feature phone sports a 2.4-inch QVGA display with 240x320 pixels (167 ppi pixel density) compared to 48x84 pixel resolution seen in the original. It has 16MB internal memory expandable up to 32GB via microSD card, a 2MP camera with LED flash (no secondary camera) and a 1,200mAh battery with stand-by time of up to 744 hours, 22 hours talk time and 51 hours on music play. It also comes with the simple yet addictive snake game.

So, should you buy Nokia 3310 (2017) or opt for other feature phones?

Well, there are many mobile phones priced around Rs 1,000, but there is something special in Nokia 3310 that its fans will want to hold it again even if it comes with a few changes. The 2017 version of the old handset has added features like colour display, camera, internet support and Micro-USB port for charging battery.

As expected, the device has a great battery life -- 744 hours stand-by time, 22 hours talk time and 51 hours on music play. This may come as a shock to many young mobile phone users as smartphone battery hardly lasts a day. The handset also has incredible durability, with the ability to survive several drops.

Nokia 3310 (2017) has its own cons like its price -- no Reliance Jio support (as it supports only 2G connectivity), and no selfie camera but they are not reason enough not to buy the device. You should buy it as a second phone at least for its battery life and durability because you never know when your smartphone battery will die, or slip out of your hand.
