Shopping King Louie a.k.a Shopaholic Louis, a South Korean romantic thriller, has just gained momentum with a rapid increase in its viewership ratings.

The mini-series, starring Seo In-guk and Nam Ji-hyun in the lead roles, revolves around the life of a rich, shopaholic from Europe named Louie and an energetic woman called Go Bok-shil. The story follows the two as they encounter various challenges in life. 

Ever since its premiere, the MBC period drama has been witnessing a steady growth in its ratings and viewers are looking forward to a fan meeting with lead cast members.

Actor In-guk had promised to make his fans happy if the show's viewership ratings hit the double digit. Fortunately, for his admirers, the period drama finally acquired the recommended number and they are now looking forward to the actor's promise.

The Korean mini-series opened with 5.6 percent viewership ratings and managed to gain 10 percent increase in ratings within a few weeks of its release. The seventh episode of the show, which was telecast on October 13, garnered the highest number of views.

The 28-year-old of Reply 1997 fame thanked his fans through Instagram for making the show a success and wrote, "This is all thanks to you all."

Although the production house and the actors are yet to release an official statement regarding a fan meeting, In Guk's agency Jellyfish Entertainment hinted at the possibilities, according to AllKpop.

The entertainment agency released an official statement revealing that they are in talks with the production crew to hold a special event to thank the followers of the period drama. According to the firm, it will be an enjoyable event with the participation of all the actors.

MBC will air the next episode of Shopping King Louie on Wednesday, October 19, at 10 pm KST. Watch the trailer below:
