New Delhi, June 06 (ANI): Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to grant more funds and autonomy to the state to formulate their own schemes. Singh met Modi at his residence in New Delhi and offered him a shawl as a mark of respect. Both the leaders discussed amendments in the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Gurantee Act (MGNREGA) for asset creation and more focus on irrigation projects. Reportedly, the Rural Development Ministry had planned to identify up to 1,000 blocks across the country where there are no banks or internet connectivity, so that wages under the rural job guarantee scheme can be disbursed in cash.
