Ajay Devgn's Shivaay (Shivay) has continued to keep the cash registers ringing at the Indian box office in its third week, taking its 16-day domestic collection closer to the mark of Rs 100 crore nett.

Despite clashing with Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, Shivaay received good opening and collected Rs 70.41 crore nett at the Indian box office in the first week. Since there were no big-ticket releases, the movie was expected to continue its dream run and surpass Rs 100 crore mark in the domestic market in the second week.

As predicted, the Ajay Devgn-starrer action-thriller remained rock-steady at the ticket counters and collected Rs 17.09 crore in its second weekend and Rs 5.9 crore on the weekdays. Shivaay collected approximately Rs 22.99 crore nett at the Indian box office in its second week. Its business was almost on par with the collection of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, which raked in Rs 24.67 crore in the second week.

Shivaay collected Rs 93.40 crore nett at the Indian box office in 16 days and it failed to surpass Rs 100 crore mark in its second week, as it fell short of Rs 6.60 crore nett. New release Rock On 2, which hit the screens on 11 November, forced Ajay Devgn's film out of several cinema halls in its third week. Its business was partially affected by ban on the notes of the denomination of Rs 500 and Rs 1000.

As per early estimates, Shivaay has collected approximately Rs 2.70 crore nett at the Indian box office on its third Friday and Saturday. Its 16-day domestic total collection has reached Rs 96.10 crore. Trade analysts from the B-Town predict that the film would surpass Rs 100 crore mark by the end of its third week and it would be the seventh Bollywood movie to achieve this rare feat in the year 2016.
