Bollywood hot favourite Salman Khan has set a trend by releasing his movies during Eid. Since 2009, Salman's major films were released during Eid, storming the box office hard. However, Shah Rukh Khan could sniff into his territory if the reports are to be believed.

Salman's four films - "Wanted", "Bodyguard," "Dabangg" and "Ek Tha Tiger" - were released during Eid, and they turned into blockbusters.

However, the grapevine is abuzz with the news that King Khan has decided to break arch rival Salman's trend this year by releasing his romantic comedy, "Chennai Express" on Eid i.e. 8 August.

According to The Times of India, Shahrukh has been planning for 8 August as the release date of his film since quite a long time. SRK, who is currently in Mahabaleshwar, called a meeting of various stakeholders including distributors, production house members, film director Rohit Shetty, Farah Khan, and music directors Vishal-Shekhar on the sets to finalise the date.

"Interesting thing about the conclave was, one did not know about the others who had been summoned," a source told TOI. SRK, who was in a jubilant mood, broke the news to all present and said "Get ready for Eid!"

Apparently, Salman's "Sher Khan", which was slated for Eid release, got shelved and his next movie "Mental", which is still under production, is unlikely to finish by that time.

But Shahrukh might face a stiff competition from Akshay Kumar this time as the Balaji Motion Pictures' "Once Upon A Time In Mumbai Again" is slated for Eid release.
