Recent reports of Shahid Kapoor all set to tie the knot with Delhi girl Mira Rajput in December were not true.

While the alleged bride-to-be refrained from commenting on the reports, a classmate of her's told India Today that the "Haider" actor wasn't tying the knot with her and was just a family friend. "Mira has clearly said that she isn't dating or getting married to Shahid Kapoor, who is elder to her by 13 years. She did say, though, that Shahid is a family friend."

The Times of India article, which had mentioned that the two were getting hitched this December, had stated that Mira is a third-year English (Hons) student at Lady Shri Ram College for Women. It also mentioned how the parents met through a spiritual organisation, Radha Soami Satsang Beas.

Mira, according to the classmate, is a private person and maintains a close friends circle. She is reportedly very intelligent and also quite opinionated. "Mira is a very private person, who prefers to hang out with very few friends. She is a rather focused and intelligent girl, who is quite vocal about her opinions," the friend added.

Shahid, who is usually active on social media, has gone eerily silent on Instagram and Twitter. Is he trying to stay quiet on the matter to avoid it or is he getting into a not-denying-not-admitting situation? Only time will tell.

Early 2015, there were reports of the star getting engaged to a "mystery girl", but his team had reportedly denied it. However, this wasn't the first time that there were rumours around the actor being romantically involved with a girl. He was previously linked-up with co-stars Vidya Balan, Priyanka Chopra and Sonakshi Sinha.

Shahid will next be seen in Vikas Bahl's "Shaandar" alongside Alia Bhatt.
