Actor Shahid Kapoor celebrated his birthday with a few close friends who joined him at his new house in Juhu, Mumbai, late on 24 February. The actor looked dashing in a black suit.
As we all know, the handsome hunk who turned 34 on 25 February has just a few hit films to his credit in his 11-year-long acting career. But last year was a major turning point in the actor's life.
Kapoor appeared in Vishal Bharadwaj's "Haider" which got him several awards including the title of "Best Actor". Now, the actor is preparing for his next projects with Alia Bhatt – "Shandaar" and "Udta Punjab".
Out of 24 films, here are the ones that earned him praises from across the globe:
"Ishq Vishk"
Shahid Kapoor and Amrita Rao made their debut with Ken Ghosh's "Ishq Vishk" in 2003. Surprisingly, the college love story was quite appreciated by the audience and critics.
"Vivah"
In 2006, Kapoor and Amrita Rao once again shared screen space in Sooraj Barjatya's "Vivah". The film received favourable reviews by critics and was loved by viewers. It became one of the highest grossing films of the year, as well as Kapoor's biggest commercial success.
"Jab We Met"
Shahid and ex-girlfriend Kareena Kapoor appeared in Imtiaz Ali's "Jab We Met" in 2007. Although it was the couple's last flick as they broke up during the making of the film, it was one of the biggest hits of the year. Shahid was seen in a different role which was appreciated by the audience.
"Kaminey"
Vishal Bhardwaj's action thriller "Kaminey" (2009) marked a major turning point in Shahid's career. The actor showed the dark side of him in the film. From performing two challenging roles in a movie to building up a strong physique, the actor stunned everybody with his brilliant performance. The film was a major critical success, and also performed well at the box office.
"Haider"
After a five-year-long struggle, Shahid came back with a bang and his acting skills were much-appreciated in Vishal Bhardwaj's "Haider" in 2014. The film did tremendously well and Shahid won several "Best Actor" awards.
