Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan was recently in Chennai to attend the 7th edition of the Vijay awards.

The actor was bestowed with the Chevalier Sivaji award (in honour of thespian Sivaji Ganesan) for his excellence in Indian cinema. During the Vijay Awards Ceremony, Shah Rukh received the prestigious award from actor Kamal Haasan. He was flanked by actors Vijay and Prabhu (son of Sivaji Ganesan).

He later joined Vijay on stage to shake a leg for the popular song "Google Google" sung by Vijay himself. But the party did not get over there. Kamal Haasan invited the bollywood actor to a small dinner at his house in Alwarpet, Chennai. Soon the news leaked and some of the Kollywood stars expressed their wish to meet Shah Rukh personally.

Kamal could not turn them down and the venue was shifted to a star hotel. The party started around 2.30 am and prominent celebrities from the film industry including Vijay, Dhanush, Samantha, D Imman, Balaji Sakthivel and A R Murgadoss had attended.

Shah Rukh arrived at the party around 3 am. The actor was seen greeting the guests and even tried a few lines in Tamil, reported the Mumbai Mirror. When the DJ started to play "Chammak Challo" (a popular song from Ra.One), Shah Rukh reportedly dragged Kamal, who was talking to a few guests, to the dance floor.

"It was a treat watching them shake a leg together," an eye witness told the Mumbai Mirror, adding, "they got along like a house on fire as they performed the 'hook step' from the song."

It has to be remembered that Kamal teamed up with Shah Rukh in "Hey Ram" 13 years ago. Shah Rukh has also worked with south actor Ajith in his 2001 film "Asoka".

The actor is currently busy with his upcoming project "Chennai Express" co-starring Deepika Padukone. Rohit Shetty of "Golmaal" series directs the film. The film is likely to get released during Eid.
