Vikas Bahl's directorial film "Shaandaar" (Shandaar) continues to drop at the domestic box office. The film minted Rs 1.75 crore on Tuesday, which took its box office collection to Rs 37.76 crore.

The romantic film starring Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt has disappointed trade analysts with its box office collection. The film was expected to bring in money at the box office, but the ticket sales started to fall from the second day only.

"Shaandaar" (Shandaar) will earn the production cost with the help of the domestic, overseas box office collection and satellite rights, but the poor box office collection will not help the film to become an average fare.

Following the failure of the film at the box office, the blame game has started. Shahid was hoping for "Shaandaar" (Shandaar) to shine at the box office, but unfortunately, it crashed.

Shahid agreed to do the film for producer Madhu Mantena, according to reports.

"He was never convinced about the script. He did the film for producer Madhu Mantena. The two are close friends. And he agreed to do the film in spite of the flimsy storyline for Madhu's sake. But now Shahid is fuming. Because Shaandaar has not only failed to deliver the much-needed box office success to his career, it has also brought down the reputation of his father Pankaj Kapoor," Bollywood Hungama quoted a source as saying.

Reports also suggest that Shahid is more upset for his father Pankaj Kapoor.

"Pankaj saab does very selective work. All his recent films have claimed to be quirky comedies. But have ended up being moronic mirthless worthless comedies. More than for himself, Shahid is upset for his dad," the source added.
