The heinous Nirbhaya crime has been reenacted, albeit with a much smaller victim this time. A six-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a 25-year-old security guard, who inserted an iron rod into her private parts at a construction site in Sola, Ahmedabad, on Friday.
According to The Times of India, the incident came into light after the Sola police received a complaint from the child's 35-year-old father, who works as a daily wage labourer at a construction site near the Sola flyover. The father lodged a police complaint after the minor cried in pain and narrated the incident to her father.
The police registered a case of rape and arrested the accused Kaushal Chauhan from the scene of crime. They have also recovered the blood-stained rod from the site.
"She said that a security guard of the adjoining construction site had taken her to a basement at the site, molested her, beat her with an iron bar and inserted it into her private parts. Rajput and other labourers rushed to the site and confronted the man, who fled the scene almost immediately," a police personnel was quoted as saying.
During interrogation, the accused revealed that he had committed the crime in order to take revenge from the victim's family.
