In 2015, a 225-square-mile iceberg broke off of the Pine Island Glacier in Antarctica, and researchers at The Ohio State University have discovered that the event was no ordinary breakup. Raging wildfires have been spreading across many parts of Israel fanned by unusually strong easterly winds. It is feared that more than 2,000 acres of land has been affected by the fires, which has also forced nearly 80,000 people to flee their homes in Haifa.
