"Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon" (KKPK) did a good business at the Indian box office on Saturday and its two-day collection was more than the other new releases "Calendar Girls" and "Bhaag Johnny".

"Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon" marks the acting debut of stand-up comedian Kapil Sharma, who has created a niche for himself with hit TV shows "Comedy Nights with Kapil" and "Comedy Circus".

He enjoys a huge following, particularly family audience, through these shows. Apparently, he has been able to translate his popularity on TV into an impressive box office collection as his fans closely followed every small update on his debut movie ever since Abbas Mustan announced it.

The makers of "Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon", who were thrilled by the response to its promos, made extensive arrangements for its grand release across the country. The movie witnessed a good volume of advance booking. Released in a large number of theatres, the movie opened to a fantastic response with its average occupancy ranging between 70% and 80% on its opening day.

"Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon" did a superb collection at the Indian box office on the first day and became the all time biggest opener film for a debut actor. Besides Kapil mania, the Eid holiday also helped the film to do well at the ticket counters.

The movie garnered positive response from the audience and critics and the word of mouth took its business up on Saturday. "Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon" has collected Rs 18.75 crore at the Indian box office in two days.

Taran Adarsh ‏tweeted, "#KisKiskoPyaarKaroon maintains a STRONG HOLD on Sat. Riding on excellent word of mouth, the film is a BIG HIT with moviegoers in India. Those who mocked Abbas-Mustan for deviating from thrillers & opting for a TV star, well, A-M are having the last laugh. #KisKiskoPyaarKaroon."

"Not only is the audience enjoying the laugh-riot, even the distributors of #KisKiskoPyaarKaroon are laughing all the way to the bank. #KisKiskoPyaarKaroon has grossed ₹ 18.75 cr on Fri+Sat. Should have a ₹ 30 cr [+/-] opening weekend in India, which is PHENOMENAL," he added.

Some trade analysts in B-Town were sceptic and had their fingers crossed about the prospects of "Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon" as it clashed with another big-ticket film "Calendar Girls", which is directed by ace filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar.

"Calendar Girls" had a huge amount of hype and promotions. Its promos had created lot of created curiosity among the audience belonging to one particular section.

Having registered poor amount of advance booking, "Calendar Girls" opened to an average response on Friday. The film received mixed reviews from audience and the word of mouth helped its business on Saturday. The movie is estimated to have collected Rs 10 crore at the Indian box office in two days.

On the other hand, "Bhaag Johnny" is a suspense thriller starring Kunal Khemu and Zoa Morani in the lead. The Shivam Nair-directed movie had a good amount of hype and promotion.

Released in limited number of screens, the film opened with average response on Friday and could not show a big leap on Saturday as well. It is estimated to have collected less than Rs 5 crore at the Indian box office in two days.
