"Sardaarji 2" minted Rs. 10.75 crore nett in East Punjab and from other circuits the film minted Rs. 3 crore nett, taking its overall first-week box office collection to Rs. 13.75 crore, Box Office India reported. Diljit-starrer is the first blockbuster of Punjabi film industry this year.

The film, directed by Rohit Jugraj, had a good first week run at the box office. The seven-day income of the entertaining drama is the biggest of this year and second highest ever in Punjab. The trade website reported that "Sardaarji 2" is the second film of all time to earn Rs. 10 crore in one week from East Punjab. Till now, less than eight Bollywood films were able to earn Rs. 10 crore in the one-week run.

Following the footsteps of the first instalment, "Sardaarji 2" enjoyed a good box office run. But the 10-day box office collection of "Saraarji 2" remained lower than the first instalment, "Sardaarji." Diljit-starrer had a good opening weekend, but the collection started to drop starting from Monday. After a good first-week run, the film is now looking forward to recording good second-week box office income, as there is no major competition this week.

The collection would take a hit once Salman's "Sultan" releases at the box office on Eid next week. "Sardaarji 2" box office run would end with a lifetime box office collection of approximately Rs. 20 crore. Though the collection will be lower than "Sardaarji," it will still be the third biggest Punjabi film.

The film, which was released on June 24, features Diljit in a double role, while Sonam Bajwa and Monica Gill are the female lead actresses.
