Ace cinematographer Santhosh Sivan has been signed for AR Murugadoss' next movie with Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu. Apparently, it will be his first straight Telugu movie in his three-decade career.

There are reports doing rounds that AR Murugadoss has roped in Santhosh Sivan for the untitled movie. The news has also been confirmed by the cinematographer himself on Twitter as he posted, "Looking forward to doing the film with Murugadoss, Mahesh Babu next year."

Santhosh Sivan is one of the biggest names in India. He has not just worked in South movies, but also in Bollywood where he has worked with big names, including Shah Rukh Khan. His inclusion into the crew has increased value of the product, feel cinema critics.

The reports also say that Harris Jayaraj has been signed to score the music and he has already started composing tunes.

The forthcoming movie will simultaneously be made in Tamil and Telugu languages. Mahesh Babu will be playing the lead in both the versions and this will be his first straight movie in Kollywood. But a section of media has reported that Ilayathalapathy Vijay might play the lead in the Tamil version.

On closely looking into Vijay's commitments, he is unlikely to take it up. He is busy with "Theri", directed by Atlee Kumar, which will be followed by Bharathan's untitled film. These projects will keep him busy for the next 10 months. Hence, he may not star in AR Murugadoss' film.

Currently, AR Murugadoss is busy with his Bollywood movie "Akira", whereas Mahesh Babu is busy with "Brahmotsavam".
