Rajkumar Hirani's biopic on Sanjay Dutt is gathering steam and the news of Deepika Padukone and Kangana Ranaut being roped in has triggered some buzz.

According to a Spotboye report, the "Bajirao Mastani" actress liked the script but she will read it at length once she's back from her New Year's break.

Kangana was in news a few months ago after she was reportedly spotted visiting and leaving Hirani's house with a bound script. She will reportedly play Manyata in the film, added the web portal. Ranbir Kapoor has been confirmed to play Dutt and he is already thinking of physical transformations he'd have to make once he gets into the character.

"I still don't know how much I will have to pile on. When me and Raju sir sit down for discussion, maybe we will talk about it and I would know exactly how much weight I have to gain," DNA quoted him as saying.

What's interesting to note is Dutt's much-talked-about affair with Madhuri Dixit will not be the high point of the biopic. The makers are looking at focusing on the senior actor's other relationships -- one with his sister, wife Manyata and ex-wife Richa Sharma.

Talking at length about what one could expect from the biopic, Hirani said Dutt will not be glorified adding that it's a very emotional story. "I was skeptical initially as underworld part is not one of my favourite worlds. When Abhijat (Joshi) and I sat with Sanjay for 25 days and discovered that we want to say this story because it was a human story," he told The Indian Express.

In other news, Deepika's role in the film will reportedly be a mix of Sharma and Tina Ambani. Kareena Kapoor Khan will be seen in the shoes of the star's sister and Amitabh Bachchan may play the father, Sunil Dutt. As there has been no official announcement yet, this can, at best, be considered a speculation.

But, if there were any truth in what the industry insiders have been claiming, it will be fun to see ex-lovers Deepika and Ranbir light up the big screen once again.
