As soon as Samsung confirmed to host the Galaxy S4's unpacking event at New York City on 14 March, the internet is abuzz with speculations on the features of  Samsung's next-generation smartphone.

The hype surrounding the launch of Galaxy S4 is understandable given the fact that its predecessor, Galaxy S3, was a huge global success. Its record sales helped Samsung become the world's top smartphone company at the end of 2012.

Now, reports emerge that the South Korean company is leaving no stone unturned to make its smartphone stand out among all its competitors. The next-generation Galaxy S4 is pegged to be one of the industry's first smartphones to feature a bendable screen with high resolution.

The reports of Galaxy S4's bendable, near-unbreakable Full HD screen surfaced when Samsung showed-off a prototype bendable-smartphone at the international electronics show CES (Consumer Electronics Show) last month.

The CES also witnessed the launch of Samsung's in-house flagship Octa-core Exynos 5 processor, leading many tech blogs to speculate that Galaxy S4 will pack this monster processor.

The speculation was short-lived when Samsung community website SamMobile reported a few days ago that the company scrapped the idea of putting the next-generation Octa-core Exynos 5 processor in Galaxy S4 due to unresolved heating issues with the CPU chipset.

The website further stated that Samsung would actually pack Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 600 series quad-core processor with 1.9GHz CPU speed.

Another big Galaxy S4 speculation is that the new smartphone will be the biggest in the Galaxy S series sporting a monster 4.99-inch display. Considering the trend of screen sizes in previous models such as the first-generation Galaxy S (4.0-inch), Galaxy S2 (4.3-inch) and Galaxy S3 (4.8-inch), Samsung seems to be blurring the difference between its two flagship series Galaxy S and Galaxy Note.

And that's not all; to complement its huge size, Galaxy S4 is expected to ship with a stylus 'S pen' to assist users while navigating through the big screen.

Speculated Specifications of Galaxy S4 Smartphone Include:

Model Samsung Galaxy S4-GT19500

According to an earlier report, Samsung is expected to officially send invitations for the Galaxy S4 launch event soon after the Mobile World Congress 2013 in Barcelona comes to a close.

Galaxy S4 is expected to initially hit stores in Asia and Europe by the end of April. Other markets like US, Australia, and Africa are expected to get shipments around May or June. Details of its pricing are still under wraps.
