New report from the U.S. has revealed that the much-speculated Samsung smartwatch Galaxy Gear will be launched alongside the company's flagship phablet Galaxy Note 3 on 4 September at 'Samsung Unpacked 2013 Episode 2' event in Germany, just two days before the international electronics trade fair IFA (Internationale Funkausstellung Berlin) 2013 kicks-off.

Apart from its launch date, Bloomberg reported quoting sources that Samsung smartwatch will allow the users to make calls, browse web and check emails. Many believe that Samsung's smart wearable device may make use of Bluetooth technology to hook to the smartphone to perform the mentioned functionalities.

The tipsters have ruled out speculations regarding flexible screen on the Samsung smartwatch. The South Korean company made public about its work on OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) based bendable display earlier in the year at CES (Consumer Electronics Show) but the Bloomberg report said that Samsung is still at the development stage.

Other key specifications of Galaxy Gear such as the build quality, screen size, display type and battery life are expected to be leaked as the Samsung unpacked event gets closer.

In the upcoming Samsung event, apart from the smart watch, the star attraction is obliviously the Galaxy Note 3. It is rumoured to sport 5.7-inch super AMOLED full HD screen and would run on the Android v4.3 Jelly Bean OS with 3GB RAM. The third generation Galaxy Note phablet is expected to come in two variants-one with Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 series processor and another with Samsung's very own Exynos 5420 Octa-core chipset.
