Smartphone leader Samsung has reportedly started rolling out the Android v4.1.2 Jelly Bean update to mid-range smartphone Galaxy S Advance (GT-I9070).

According to reports, Samsung is releasing the Jelly Bean update through phases and it may take at least a couple more of days to reach users across India.

Android v4.1.2 update for Galaxy S Advance will be available through OTA (Over-The- Air) or it can also be downloaded through computer via Samsung Kies PC suite or else users can manually go to smartphone's setting option to check for software update.

Key Features of Jelly Bean v4.1.2 Update Includes:

  • Smooth performance & stability.
  • Multi-Windows multitasking ability with enable and disable options, similar to Galaxy Note 2.
  • New options for customizing the notification panel.
  • Two home screen modes.
  • Page Buddy.
  • New refurbished Google Now.
  • Addition of features such as Direct Call, Smart Stay, and Pop-up play.
  • New widgets and similar UI (User-Interface) features seen in Galaxy S3.
  • Introduction of 'Smart Rotation' to enable device to adjust screen display according to user's angle of sight.

Galaxy smartphone fans will also be happy as Samsung has reportedly slashed the Galaxy S Advance's price to ₹14,500 from ₹17,500.

Galaxy S Advance made its debut in April 2012 last year with android v2.3 OS Gingerbread. It is one of the very few Samsung smartphones to skip the Ice Cream Sandwich OS update and get the Jelly Bean directly.
