Consumer electronics giant Samsung is reportedly planning to release the Galaxy Tab Active slate in India soon.
Samsung confirmed the news during the company's recently concluded annual Tech forum event in Thailand that Galaxy Tab Active will hit stores in India next month with price tag around ₹52,000, reported AndroidOS.in.
As the name suggests, Galaxy Tab Active is a rugged model. It comes packed with anti-shock cover on the rear side and protective gears around edges to endure accidental drops (up to 1.2 meters/4 feet). That's not all. It also boasts IP67 certifications, which enable the device to survive 3-feet underwater for up to 30 minutes.
Under the hood, 8.0-inch Galaxy Tab Active houses Qualcomm Snapdragon quad-core SoC (System on Chip) powered by Android 4.4 KitKat OS, 1.5GB RAM, 16GB inbuilt memory and a high-capacity 4,450mAh battery.
Other stipulated features include S-Pen stylus, 3.1mp camera with LED flash on the rear-side and a 1.2mp snapper on the front side. It is expected to come in two variants Wi-Fi only and a SIM based cellular model with 4G-LTE modem chip.
