After months of speculations, Samsung has finally announced the details of the Galaxy Unpacked 2016 event.

The company, on Twitter, confirmed the annual device launch event – "Galaxy Unpacked 2016" -- at 7:00 PM CET (11:30 pm IST) on 21 February (Sunday) at Barcelona, just a day ahead of MWC (Mobile World Congress) 2015 (22-25 February), Spain.

Samsung's teaser says – "Get ready for #TheNextGalaxy. February 21. " It also accompanies a video that shows a guy wearing VR head gear watching a black box beaming blue light out the edges. This just gives a clue that the company in all probability will pull the wraps off the flagship Galaxy S7 later this month.

The previous two Galaxy Unpacked events, held in the first quarter of 2014 and 2015, too witnessed the launch of marquee Galaxy S series smartphones.

Expected features of Galaxy S7 series:

From what we have gathered, Samsung is expected to unveil two phones -- Galaxy S7, with 5.1-inch flat screen panel with QHD (2560x1440p) resolution and S7 Edge having bigger 5.5-inch QHD display with dual-curved screen.

They are said to house LPDDR4 4GB RAM, 64GB inbuilt memory, 12MP camera with f/1.7 aperture and 5MP wide-angle front snapper.
