Smartphone leader Samsung on Monday (23 March) officially launched the new Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge in New Delhi.
The company has confirmed that Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge models (along with the official accessories) will hit Indian stores with prices starting from ₹49,900 on 10 April. [scroll down for full price-list]
For the uninitiated, Galaxy S6 (& S6 Edge) was unveiled early this month at MWC (Mobile World Congress) 2015, Barcelona. It is a major upgrade over its predecessor Galaxy S5, which failed to impress critics and fans in 2014. Despite boasting top-of the line hardware, it was panned for featuring low-quality plastic cover.
But now, the new Samsung devices come protected with superior aircraft grade metal cover (1.5-times stronger than any smartphone in the market) and Gorilla Glass 4 shield (both front & back). In the front, they flaunt 5.1-inch QHD (2560x1440p) display with pixel density of 577 ppi (pixels per inch).

S6 Edge too features same display resolution, only difference is that the screen stretches to both right and left side edges.
Both the devices come packed with 14-nanometer class 64-bit Exynos 7 Octa-core processor with 3GB LPDRR4 RAM, UFS 2.0 series super-fast memory chips -32GB/64GB/128GB storage options, a 16-megapixel camera and a 5.0-megapixel snapper on the front.

Samsung Galaxy S6 & S6 Edge India Pre-order Details:
The South Korean company has announced that prospective consumers can pre-book the new Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge starting today. To sweeten the deal, Samsung India has announced that buyers who pre-book the device between 23 March and 9 April will get one-time free screen replacement within one-year of purchase and also cash-back in future, in case the company plans to give discounts to the new devices in the next six months.
That's not all; if a user is a subscriber of Samsung banking partner HDFC or is planning to buy via Bajaj Finserv can avail zero-interest 18-month EMI schemes. [more details, HERE]
