Samsung Galaxy S5 Zoom Specifications Leak Online; Tipped to Debut in May

With Samsung Galaxy S5 already slated to hit global markets early next month, key specifications of the rumored Galaxy S5 Zoom, camera-centric phone have surfaced online.

A Polish tech blog, Galaktyczny has gotten hold of a sheet of paper containing Galaxy S5 Zoom features. In the memo, the phone is said to boast a 4.8-inch HD (720p) display, run on the latest android v4.4 KitKat, 1.6GHz quad-core processor, 2GB RAM, 20-megapixel camera with Xenon flash support, 10 X zoom and OIS (Optical Image Stabilisation), a key feature which is missing in the Galaxy S5's 16.0-megapixel camera. It also adds that the new phone will be compact and slimmer than the bulky predecessor, Galaxy S4 Zoom, which had protractible lens forming an awkward bump on the rear-side.

To authenticate the validity of the scribbled note, the website's source claims that the features written in the note was taken during a special presentation by Samsung to limited people.[to view the paper note, click here].

The revelation comes just days after the Samsung device SM-C115 was revealed on a benchmarking site with similar specifications, but the only anomaly is that the smartphone is said to pack a hexa-core processor, leading many to believe that handset may launch in multiple variants with chipsets depending on the market, like other Samsung smartphones in the past.

According to SamMobile, Galaxy S5 Zoom is expected to make a debut around May.

Meanwhile, Galaxy S5 preview models have begun to hit exclusive 'Samsung Experience Stores' and authorized network carriers and sellers in select global market. The company has started the demos of the smartphones in US and Switzerland, and will expand to the remaining 59 markets including Brazil, China, Germany, and United Kingdom later this month.
