Samsung Galaxy S5 Neo Spotted at Benchmarking Site; Key Specifications Revealed

Since the launch of Samsung's Galaxy S5 in February, more than three variants of the flagship smartphone have been launched. Now a new device has been spotted at benchmarking site, hinting that the company might add another variant to their S5 series portfolio.

Samsung handset codenamed SM-G850 (aka Galaxy S5 Neo), thought to be the budget variant of the flagship phone has made a stop at a popular performance rating website, GFXBench, revealing the key specifications of the phone.

According to the listing, Samsung devices sports a 4.7-inch HD (1280x720p) display and was tested under the latest Android v4.4.4 KitKat OS powered by Samsung's in-house built Exynos Octa-core processor backed by ARM Mali-T628 Hexa-core graphics card, 2GB RAM and 32GB in-built memory.

The low-cost Galaxy S5 Neo is also said to house a11.0-megapixel camera which boasts of LED flash, HDR and a 2.0-megapixel snapper on the front. Both the cameras have full HD video recording ability.

According to Kopengalaxys5.nl, the new Samsung Galaxy S5 Neo has been under test for close to two weeks. The technology blog apparently stumbled upon this data in the Samsung's export-import data archive, while leafing through Zauba.com, an Indian based logistic company.

The test models of Samsung SM-G850 arrived from South Korea to New Delhi for evaluation between 2 -4 July. So going by the previous smartphone reports, we can assume the new Galaxy S5 Neo's launch soon, probably in two months.

As of now, Samsung has launched Samsung Galaxy Active (AT &T variant)/ Sport (Sprint variant), Galaxy S5 Mini (compact variant), Galaxy K Zoom (camera-centric variant), Galaxy S5 A-LTE (with 2K Resolution display) and very soon we'll see the budget variant Galaxy S5 Neo hit stores most probably in emerging markets like India, China, South East Asia and Africa.
