In about a few hours from now, Samsung will pull the wraps of the new generation flagship phablet dubbed as the Galaxy Note7.

Why Galaxy Note7 instead of Galaxy Note6?

Samsung has two reasons on why it jumped the chronological order. First, the company believes that the Galaxy Note7 will complement the current Galaxy S7 and S7 edge series phones, and unify their product portfolio.

Secondly, Samsung believes that, by naming the new phablet as the Galaxy Note7, it will minimise confusion about the latest mobile technology from the company, and provide full alignment with Galaxy S series smartphones.

The company is hosting the "7 Galaxy Unpacked" event at 11:00 a.m. EDT (8:30 p.m. IST) in New York City on Aug. 2, 2016 and later in Rio de Janeiro at noon and in London at 4:00 p.m.

Samsung has made elaborate plans to webcast the Galaxy Note7 launch event to the entire world. For the first time, the company will screen the event with 360-degree view option and has also made arrangements for fans to watch the unveiling programme through Gear VR headset.

Highlight of the "7 Unpacked 2016" event:

As we have already said, the New York City event hosted by Samsung will be used as the launch pad to unveil the new Galaxy Note7.
