Samsung's next big thing is the Galaxy Note 6. In fact, the upcoming device is one of the most-awaited handsets of the year and it will hog the limelight in the days to come, now that the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge have been unveiled.
The South Korean technology giant is tight-lipped on the release date of its upcoming next-generation device from the Note series, but it is expected to be launched in August, as its predecessor Galaxy Note 5 will complete a year's cycle in the market by this time.
Expectation from the Galaxy Note 6 is sky-high after the stupendous success of the Note series, even though the Galaxy Note 5 didn't do as well as expected. There are also reports that Samsung will kill Note series after the Galaxy Note 6.
Here are five things you may see in the Galaxy Note 5 successor when it is launched:
S Pen with dual functionality
The U.S. Patent & Trademark Office has published a patent application filed by Samsung earlier this year that is about an S Pen with dual functionality, reported Patently Mobile. According to the patent, users can pull the S Pen, bend it halfway and lock it to turn it into a stand. Now, speculations have it that this feature could be introduced in the upcoming Galaxy Note 6.
Don't be surprised if the upcoming Galaxy Note 6 comes packed with a huge internal memory. Samsung Electronics has announced its first 256GB universal flash storage (UFS) meant for next-generation high-end mobile devices. So, the Galaxy Note 6 could come with this storage option.
Samsung is expected to downgrade megapixel of the upcoming device but upgrade aperture instead for better quality pictures. ValueWalk has reported that Samsung will introduce Vivid Photo or Timeless Photo technology in the camera to be seen in the Galaxy Note 6.
Galaxy S7 features
The Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 were almost identical in terms specifications. The former has more storage, RAM and battery but these are not noticeable differences. This similarity backfired and affected the sales of the Note devices. The just unveiled Galaxy S7 and the upcoming Galaxy Note 6 could share similar specifications like their predecessors.
MicroSD card slot
The Galaxy Note 5 was criticised for discarding microSD card slot when it was released last year. Samsung has brought the feature back in the recently announced Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge. So, it is very likely for the Galaxy Note 6 to come with expandable memory option.
