Samsung Galaxy Grand Neo Plus made a silent debut on the company's official website with an attractive price tag. Months after the handset was released in the country, shoppers will be able to order the budget smartphone online at a discounted price.
A report in January suggested the new Galaxy Grand Neo was launched in India for ₹11,700, but there was no official word on it. By listing the handset on its official website, Samsung has confirmed nation-wide availability of the Grand Neo Plus.
As per Samsung's listing, the Galaxy Grand Neo Plus is available for ₹9,990 with three colour options to choose from, including White, Gold and Black. The new handset may appeal to those who are shopping for a budget device under ₹10,000, but the competition is extremely intense in this category. Chinese companies like Xiaomi, Lenovo and Indian makers such as Micromax, Karbonn and Lava have ruled the budget smartphone segment with their low-priced, powerful smartphones.
Even with several options in the market, Samsung has a strong fan-following in the country. Those who look up to Samsung for its brand value will find the handset more appealing. The specs aren't as great as its rivals, but stands firm against giants like Microsoft.
The Galaxy Grand Neo Plus is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor with a 5-inch WVGA display. There is 1GB RAM and 8GB onboard storage that can be expanded up to 64GB. The handset offers a 5mp primary camera with LED flash and a 2mp front-facing shooter. Powering up the smartphone is a 2,200mAh battery that promises up to 11 hours of 3G talk time and runs Android 4.4KitKat out-of-the-box. Samsung also packs the usual accelerometer, proximity and compass sensors.
Samsung Galaxy Grand Neo Plus houses two SIM slots and has micro USB port for charging and transferring data from PC to phone and vice versa.
