A photograph of the long-rumored metal-clad Samsung flagship phone Galaxy F aka Galaxy S5 Prime has surfaced online, inciting excitement among fans.

Technology blog GSMArena has released the first ever raw image of the alleged Galaxy F (aka Galaxy S5 Prime) phone. But the leaked photo is very grainy, and we see only the top-right corner of the smartphone (with Samsung embellishment) flaunting a front-facing camera, couple of sensor modules and a shiny chassis, hinting the incorporation of some kind of metal (probably chromium alloy) around the edges.

Besides the shiny frame, the photo does not give away any crucial leads concerning the metal-shell cover on the rear side, which we have seen in the recently leaked press-render (courtesy @evleaks).

As of now, there is no concrete evidence with GSMArena to back its claims (or its source's credentials) but if the device is indeed the Galaxy F, it will certainly boost the company's image and bring cheers to the fans, who have long been craving for a true premium device from the South Korean consumer electronics firm.

There is no word on when Galaxy F might be released but many believe that the company may debut the handset in September (courtesy, Apple Insider), the very same month Apple is rumored to unveil new iPhone series 6 devices, which are said to be the company's biggest (4.7-inch and 5.5-inch) smartphones yet.

Galaxy F aka Galaxy S5 Prime is said to boast a 5.2-inch 2K (2560x1440p) display and ship with the yet-to-be released Android update v4.4.3 KitKat.

Other expected specifications include 3GB RAM, 32GB, 16.0-megapixel primary camera (with OIS, ISOCELL) and a 2.0-megapixel front camera. Like all Samsung flagship devices, the upcoming phone is also expected to come two CPU variants – one with new Octa-core processor (Exynos 5430) with 2.1GHz quad-core Cortex A15 CPU & 1.5GHz quad-core Cortex A7 CPU backed by 600MHz Mali T6XXX graphics engine and another variant with Snapdragon 805 series quad-core chipset with Adreno 420 GPU.

Even though reports of Galaxy F is running wild on the internet, Samsung is still to comment on the rumors.

It has to be noted Galaxy F will not be the first Samsung phone to boast a QHD screen. The company has already launched a Galaxy S5 LTE-A variant with 2K (2560x1440p) display and it also houses a super-fast 2.5GHz Snapdragon 805 series CPU, Adreno 420 graphics engine, 3GB RAM and 32GB inbuilt storage with the option of expansion up to 128GB but does not flaunt a metal-shell on the rear side.
