Samsung Inc's recently announced mid-range Android Galaxy Core smartphone was spotted on many online retailers' websites in India, suggesting its imminent launch in the country.

The smartphone is listed on the company's India website as well as other online retailers like Saholic, Flipkart and Infibeam. However, there is no mention of the availability and pricing of the smartphone. The handset announced in May sports a 4.3-inch WVGA display with a screen resolution of 800×480 pixels and is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor along with 1GB of RAM.

It comes with 8GB of internal storage which can be further expanded up to 64GB using a microSD card. It hosts a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED Flash and a VGA camera at the front. On the connectivity front, the device supports dual-SIM card slots, 3G support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS and runs on the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system with TouchWiz UI on top.

Like other Samsung phones, the Galaxy Core also comes preloaded with Smart Stay, Smart Alert, Motion UI and S Voice. The Smart Stay help saving to prolong battery life by dimming the screen light of the handset when the user is not looking at the screen. Smart Alert alerts the user about missed calls and messages when the phone is picked up. The other app Motion UI helps the user to refresh the device with simple movements.
