Director Kabir Khan has slammed reports that said "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" had been postponed and confimed that the film will release on Eid 2015.

Salman Khan starrer "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" will release on 17 July during Eid this year, said Kabir. The director took to micro-blogging site Twitter to confirm the news.

"#BajrangiBhaijaan is definitely releasing this Eid... The media reports are rubbish," he tweeted.

Kabir clarified the dates after reports suggested that the much-awaited release will be postponed. Kabir's directorial film "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" is currently in the last leg of shooting. The whole cast and crew, including Salman, has been shooting in Kashmir.

The makers of the film are trying to wrap up the schedule as soon as possible, but still they might not finish the post-production before Eid, reports suggested.

Mid-Day has reported that "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" might clash with Akshay Kumar-Sidharth Malhotra starrer "Brothers" on 14 August.

"The shoot schedule of Bajrangi went for a toss due to the Kashmir floods, delaying the post-production work. The makers were planning to shift the release to September or October, but given the recent developments in Salman's life, they want to take the film to theatres as early as possible. An August 14 release works from the business point of view, as it is the beginning of a three-day weekend," Mid-Day quoted a source as saying.

The source also revealed that Kabir is trying to finish the work as soon as possible to release the film during Independence Day in India. But neither the director nor the makers have confirmed that the release date has been shifted from Eid to I-Day.

"The last leg of the shoot is drawing to a close and the post production work is being carried out simultaneously. Once the editing and dubbing are done, a clear picture will emerge and an official announcement be made on the release," the source added.

Meanwhile, the trailer of the film starring Salman, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui will be released on 21 May and will be attached with Kangana Ranaut and R Madhavan's upcoming film "Tanu Weds Manu Returns", which releases on 22 May.
