The speculation about the leading actress of Salman Khan's Kick 2 movie continues to do the round. From Kriti Sanon to Amy Jackson, names of several actresses emerged for the lead actress role opposite Salman in the sequel to the blockbuster film.
The latest report suggests that Kick's original pairing – Salman and Jacqueline Fernandez – will feature in the sequel as well. Salman and Jacqueline even met Kick director Sajid Nadiadwala at his office in Mumbai to sign the deal, Filmfare reported. The meeting news was kept under wraps, as the makers do not want to reveal the cast of Kick 2.
The latest reports came a week after sources told Mid-Day that the original pairing of Kick has not been replaced. "Jacqueline hasn't been replaced," a source close to Sajid Nadiadwala's production house told Mid-Day, putting a rest to the speculations that the Sri Lankan beauty is making way for Kriti or Amy in the Kick 2.
Jacqueline's Bollywood career graph went upward after she featured opposite Salman in the blockbuster hit Kick, which grossed Rs 200 crore at the box office. Fans also loved the pairing of Salman-Jacqueline. "I think of my career as pre-'Kick' and post-'Kick'. Pre-'Kick' I was sitting at home and wasn't really doing anything... After 'Kick', a lot more offers came my way," Jacqueline said in an interview.
Meanwhile, talking about Kick 2's storyline reports suggest that the sequel will be a fresh script, unlike the original film, which was a remake of 2009's Telugu movie of the same name. The project starring Salman and Jacqueline is expected to go on the floors next year. The director Sajid confirmed that he is working on the script and will soon finalise everything.
"I have started writing. I am not sure if I will direct next year as I am yet to complete writing," Sajid told the Press Trust of India.
