Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's love story may have ended long ago, but looks like the superstar still prefers to avoid crossing paths with the former Miss World.

Mukesh and Nita Ambani hosted a grand party in Mumbai on Friday to celebrate cricketers Rohit Sharma and Harbhajan Singh's marriage.

Several Bollywood celebrities attended the bash including Shah Rukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai and her husband Abhishek Bachchan. Salman was also reportedly invited to the grand celebration, but the "Sultan" actor did not turn up for the event. Instead, Salman's brother Sohail Khan attended the party.

Aishwarya and Abhishek's presence at the party was obvious as the Bachchan family shares good rapport with the Ambanis. Hence, Salman decided to give it a miss as he did not want to come across his former girlfriend, reported 9XE.com.

The report also said Salman suddenly went off to Karjat to shoot a sequence for "Sultan" in order to avoid the party, despite having himself cancelled that day's shoot earlier.

"Ali Abbas Zafar (director) had told Salman earlier he wanted to shoot a sequence with him on Friday, but Salman had told him he would shoot it later. So Ali reworked the schedule and was working on other scenes last night. However, Salman suddenly showed up on the sets at 9.30 and told Ali he would shoot for the sequence. Everyone around was extremely surprised by the sudden turn of events," the report quoted a source as saying.

Salman completed the shoot in half an hour and headed towards his Panvel farmhouse, the report said.
