Bollywood superstar Salman Khan is all set to reclaim the Eid slot next year with the release of his much-hyped film "Kick". The action flick is set to hit screens on 27 July, 2014.

Earlier, it was said that "Kick", which marks Sajid Nadiadwala's directorial debut, would release on Eid. But after Salman's UK visa was delayed, rumours surfaced that shooting would get stalled due to which the release date would have to be postponed.

Contrary to the rumours, the "Kick" team has stuck to their decision of releasing the film on Eid next year.

"Salman will be shooting for Kick (produced and directed by Sajid Nadiadwala) on especially constructed sets in Mumbai come September. Though the shooting got slightly postponed because of the actor's visa problems all that has been sorted out now," a souce close to the project said, DNA reported.

"When he and Sajid had a chat about it last week, both were very clear that they wanted an Eid release. For the past several years, Salman's Wanted (2009), Dabangg (2010), Bodyguard (2011) and Ek Tha Tiger (2012) have always released on Eid and they have all been blockbusters and the biggest hits of those years," the source added.

Salman lost the Eid slot this year as the shooting of his upcoming film "Mental" got delayed which turned out to be lucky for Shah Rukh Khan-Deepika Padukone starrer "Chennai Express". "Mental" is set to release on Republic Day next year.

"This year his Mental couldn't be completed before that so Shah Rukh Khan's Chennai Express grabbed the date. Sajid and Salman decided that they will complete Kick at breakneck speed so that the film can release on Eid," the source concluded.

Salman has been paired oppposite Sri Lankan beauty Jacqueline Fernandez in "Kick".

Apart from "Mental" and "Kick", Salman has another film set to release next year for which he will team up with choreographer Prabhudeva. The film, which has not been titled yet, is expected to hit screens during Diwali or Christmas.
