Salman Khan's performance in the movie "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" has come up as the best male performance of 2015, according to an opinion poll conducted amongst the public. On the other hand, Kangana Ranaut has emerged the best female performer of the year for the movie "Tanu Weds Manu Returns", beating Deepika Padukone.

Ormax Media conducted a survey, based on audience opinion, around the year on the stars' performances in some of the best movies of 2015. The survey result tallied performance likeability (in percentage) collected from theatre audience's opinion, over a period of four weeks from the films' release.

Salman topped the list of best male performers of the year for "Bajrangi Bhaijaan", followed by Nawazuddin Siddiqui for "Manjhi-The Mountain Man". Salman's performance likeability score was 81%, while Nawazuddin won the second slot with a score of 79%. Other actors in the top 10 are Amitabh Bachchan (77%) for "Piku", Ajay Devgn (76%) for "Drishyam", Ranveer Singh (76%) for "Bajirao Mastani", Akshay Kumar (75%) for "Baby", Akshay Kumar again (73%) for "Gabbar Is Back", Nana Patekar (72%) for "Welcome Back", Nawazuddin Siddiqui (68%) for "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" and Irrfan Khan (63%) for "Talvar".

Kangana Ranaut bagged the title of the best female performer of the year with a score of 80% for "Tanu Weds Manu Returns". Deepika Padukone came in second with a score of 77% for "Bajirao Mastani". Others to follow are Anushka Sharma (72%) for "NH-10", Deepika Padukone (71%) for "Piku", Kalki Koechlin (64%) for "Margarita With A Straw", Priyanka Chopra (63%) for "Bajirao Mastani", Priyanka Chopra again (59%) for "Dil Dhadakne Do", Deepika Padukone (57%) for "Tamasha", Tabu (55%) for "Drishyam" and Kajol (54%) for "Dilwale".

Directed by Kabir Khan,"Bajrangi Bhaijaan", starring Salman, Nawazuddin, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Harshaali Malhotra, was not only a box office blockbuster but was also highly appreciated by critics. Kangana Ranaut and R Madhavan-starrer "Tanu Weds Manu Returns" was directed by Aanand L Rai and was also both critically and commercially successful.
