Salman Khan arrived at Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, on Monday morning to attend sister Arpita Khan's belated wedding reception.
The superstar, who is set to release the trailer of "Bajrangi Bhaijaan", travelled to Sundenagar by private helicopter and then reached Mandi via road. Salman was accompanied by brother Sohail Khan.
Arpita married Aayush Sharma in November, last year in a grand wedding ceremony at Falaknuma Palace in Hyderabad, followed by a lavish reception in Mumbai. However, the reception in Mandi (Aayush's hometown) was postponed as the couple went on a three-week-long honeymoon and later Salman's legal issues further delayed the celebrations.
In an interview with Indian Express, Arpita's father-in-law and cabinet minister Anil Sharma said: "We are honoured by the visit of Salman Khan and doubly excited at bahu's (Arpita Khan Sharma) home coming."
The reception was a grand one and was attended by over 15,000 people. Some prominent political figures and businessmen also attended the function to be held at the local Gymkhana Club.
"We have all necessary arrangements already in place as the event is going to attract a huge crowd. Since it being a private affair, the police have nothing to do except taking care of law and order or traffic mobility on Kullu-Manali National Highway due to tourists season," said SP (Mandi) Mohit Chawla.
