Bollywood's handsome hunks have come a long way in their acting career in the film industry, but making a mark in the entertainment world has not been easy for them. Not only did they have to work really hard, some actors even had to give up their studies to build a career in the film industry.

From Salman Khan to Arjun Kapoor, many Bollywood superstars are actually college dropouts. The actors have dropped their degree courses in between and turned to acting instead.

Here are few of the Bollywood stars who dropped out of college:

Salman Khan

"Kick" star Salman Khan is one of the actors who dropped out of college to pursue his acting career. The "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" actor completed his schooling from Scindia High School, Gwalior and St. Stanislaus High School, Mumbai. Despite a graduation degree from National College in Bandra, the actor followed his dream of becoming an actor.

Arjun Kapoor

He played the brilliant IIM-A student in "2 States", but in real life Arjun Kapoor flunked class 12.   He did his schooling from Arya Mandir school, Mumbai, and as "AIB Roast" revealed, Arjun failed in 12th board exams. So, the "Tevar" actor dropped his studies there and decided to assist his father, producer Boney Kapoor.

Aamir Khan

Surprisingly, Bollywood's Mr. Perfectionist, Aamir Khan is also a college dropout. The actor decided to discontinue his studies after passing his 12th grade from Narsee Monjee College in Mumbai. He chose to assist his uncle Nasir Hussain over further studies.

Sushant Singh Rajput

Sushant Singh Rajput was a brilliant student who secured 7th rank in the All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) and qualified for a scholarship. He is a National Olympiad winner in Physics, and was pursuing his engineering degree at the Delhi College of Engineering, when the acting bug bit the outstanding student. He dropped out of his college in third year and went on to chase his dream of acting.

Like these actors, several Bollywood's leading actresses including Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Alia Bhatt, Kajol, Karisma Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Priyanka Chopra and many others have chosen films over studies.
