'Saath Nibhaana Saathiya:' Here's who will romance Gopi Bahu after Ahem's death

"Saath Nibhaana Saathiya" was in news recently when the makers decided to reinvent the long running show by killing the lead character Ahem Modi (Mohammad Nazim) and introducing a new man in Gopi Bahu's (Devoleena Bhattacharjee) life, which will bring a fresh twist to the storyline.

According to Tellychakkar.com report, television actor Khalid Siddiqui of "Dream Girl" fame has apparently been roped in as the new male lead of the show. Khalid's character will be seen as the new man in Gopi Bahu's life.

"Khalid will be the new man in Gopi bahu's (Devoleena Bhattacharya) life. Post Ahem's exit, the makers will give a dhamakedaar entry to this new character who will go on to be the new lead," a source told the web-portal.

Earlier, it was reported that the creative team came up with the fresh twist to the storyline and put the leap on hold after the show's key actors had expressed their reservations about ageing on screen.

Nazim was, however, disappointed with the sudden development on the show but was hopeful to continue entertaining his fans in future as he had been offered several television shows. "Yes, they are killing off my character. I was told the storyline demanded it. Of course I am upset but I can't fight and spoil my relations with them. I tried reasoning but they insisted they want to try something new. I wasn't even given a two months' notice," he had told the Asian Age.

Meanwhile, there were rumours that Sonam Lamba, who plays the role of Vidya, was mulling over quitting the show. Also, Vishal Singh aka Jigar Modi has apparently decided to take the exit route as he wants to concentrate on his film projects.
