The team of "Saath Nibhaana Saathiya," including Devoleena Bhattacharjee (Gopi Bahu), Kokila (Rupal Patel), Meera (Tanya Sharma) and Vidya (Sonam Lamba), recently got teary-eyed while shooting Ahem's (Mohammad Nazim) death sequence. The cast got emotional as the important sequence marked the exit of Nazim from the show.

Nazim, who had been associated with the show since its inception in 2010, also got emotional as the entire team bid farewell to him on the last day of his shoot. The actor has also posted a few farewell pictures on his social media page. "I got emotional after seeing my co-stars break down. It's not easy to leave the show, but there's nothing I can do about it," Nazim told SpotboyE.

"Like my character Meera, I will also miss Nazim very badly. We have all been like a family here," Tanya added.

According to the report, the sequence showing Ahem's death will be aired in a few days, after which the plot of the show will see a major twist with a new man entering in Gopi Bahu's life. Nazim was, however, disappointed with the sudden development in the storyline. "Yes, they are killing off my character. I was told the storyline demanded it. Of course, I am upset but I can't fight and spoil my relations with them. I tried reasoning but they insisted they want to try something new. I wasn't even given two months' notice," he had told the Asian Age.

Meanwhile, Khalid Siddiqui has been roped in to play Gopi Bahu's new love interest. The actor will be seen in the role of a doctor and will soon start shooting for the show.

The sudden decision taken by the makers to bring a new twist in the storyline and cast a new actor opposite the show's lead actress Devoleena came after the show's key actors had expressed their reservations about ageing on screen and the creative team had no option but to put the leap on hold.
