The time has come for the premier golf event -- Ryder Cup -- to startle fans across the world. After a few mind games and some talks of favourites, the US and Europe players are ready to battle it out for the prestigious competition, starting Friday. There are a number of stars in both the camps, and the quality of competition in Minnesota, without a shadow of doubt, is going to be top-notch.

If we look at the recent history of the Ryder Cup, one has seen Europe dominating the competition. They have been brilliant in the last three editions, winning it all, and are looking for their fourth straight win.

Europe's dominance in the Ryder Cup has not only been limited in the last three editions; they have won the competition eight times in the last ten tournaments. But it is not going to be an easy task for Europe to emerge victorious. Their prolific record has been possible as Europe players have made it a habit of taking their game to the next level when they come against US in this competition.

The US have a strong team for this Ryder Cup 2016, with players like Dustin Johnson, Jordan Spieth, Patrick Reed and add to it the experience of Phil Mickelson, they are a strong team. With such class players in their ranks, Team captain Davis Love will go into the Ryder Cup confident, and hope to see the nation win the premier competition. They also have the added advantage of playing at home.

Europe team for the Ryder Cup also looks great with players like Rory McIlroy, Henrik Stenson, Sergio Garcia and Lee Westwood. But, this team may not stand anywhere to the team, which Europe have put in the past, according to former American golfer Johnny Miller, who does not give the defending champions much of a chance to shine, and even considers this current squad as one of the worst for Europe in recent years.
