Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar has shared the trailer of his upcoming film "Rustom" and it looks quite intriguing. After "Housefull 3," the "Khiladi" actor is back with a serious movie, which will remind you of his brilliant performance in "Airlift."

In the "Rustom" trailer, Akshay's character is a navy officer, named Naval Commander Rustom Pavri, who is seen shooting his wife's lover. The person who is killed is a well known personality and his murder leads to the officer's arrest. However, things become interesting when the people support the officer as he is known for his good deeds and patriotism. The video also hinted that there is a mystery behind Akshay's character going to jail.

Akshay will be seen in a serious role and after watching the trailer, fans will be curious to see him on the big screen. The leading actresses of the movie are Ileana D'Cruz, who plays Akshay's wife, and Esha Gupta who will appear as the sister of the character who was murdered.

Set in 1959 Bombay, the Tinu Desai directorial is inspired from a true incident as it is loosely based on the infamous Nanavati case. The trailer video said: "A sensational case of a naval officer led to the end of the jury system in India."

Earlier, it had been reported that the makers of "Rustom" will release three trailers of the film and one of them will be released with Salman Khan's "Sultan." "Akshay is currently on holiday and won't return before July 6 (when 'Sultan' releases), so three versions of the trailer had been sent to him for approval last week. One trailer will release tomorrow (June 30) while the theatrical one will be among the other two," DNA had quoted a source as saying.

Meanwhile, Akshay is flying high with his two films, which did well at the box office. "Housefull 3" and "Airlift" have already been praised by the fans and now, "Rustom" is set to win hearts on Aug. 12.
