Akshay Kumar's "Rustom" has not just been running strong at the domestic box office, but also at the international circuits. Although the action-thriller had to share screens with last week's release, "Happy Bhaag Jayegi," it stayed steady at the key overseas markets.
"Rustom" has collected an impressive Rs. 32.31 crore gross (approx) at the close of its second weekend at the overseas box office. In comparison to the first week, "Rustom" has slowed down internationally and the numbers have dropped considerably.
By the end of day 4, "Rustom" had raked in Rs. 20.27 crore at the overseas box office and closed first week collection with Rs. 25.31 crore. This means, in its second week, the Akshay-starrer has just been able to add another Rs. 7 crore to its gross overseas box office total.
The United Arab Emirates and G.C.C., USA and Pakistan are circuits "Rustom" has performed exceptionally well at, minting Rs. 12.01 crore, Rs. 7.76 crore and Rs. 2.81 crore, respectively.
Meanwhile, Hrithik Roshan's "Mohenjo Daro" isn't too far behind. It has collected Rs. 26.19 crore at the overseas box office and scored exceptionally well in the U.A.E/G.C.C and Pakistan.
At the Indian box office, "Rustom" has beaten lifetime box office numbers of Akshay's previous films — "Housefull 2" and "Housefull 3" — and is gearing up to shatter the final figures posted by "Airlift." It has recorded a profit of 170 percent, emerging as the fourth most profitable films of the year, after "Neerja," "Sultan" and "Airlift."
