A 24-year-old woman, Svetlana Roslina, died after falling into a tank of molten chocolate in Russia, according to reports by Metro on Wednesday.

The woman was reportedly crushed to death while she was attempting to get out of the industrial mixer, which had been mixing chocolate at the Sergiev-Posad confectionery factory in Fedortsovo. The factory is a few kilometres away from Moscow.

How Roslina's death came about in that factory is still not clear. Witnesses present at the factory have varying accounts to tell. While some say that she fell in the chocolate vat while emptying the ingredients into the mixer, others say that she fell while trying to retrieve her phone, which had fallen into the chocolate tank.

Rosalina, a mother of two children, was reportedly trapped in the vat and got pulled into the mixer by the machinery. According to a witness, the woman was "minced, only her legs were left," Metro reported.

"A young woman died at the confectionery plant in Fedortsovo. I live here and can see the plant out of my window. At 6pm there were police cars and a hearse. People are saying that she dropped her phone in the tank and tried to get it but was dragged in there," a local resident said.

The timing of the incident was not immediately clear. Police are investigating the case.
