Rumours have been doing the rounds that Akshay Kumar will donate the opening day box office collection of "Gabbar Is Back" to Nepal Earthquake victims.

However, the actor took to twitter to rubbish the rumours and set the record straight.

"Gabbar Is Back" releasing on Friday, 1 May, and is expected to open on a grand note at the box office. Considering its Akshay's movie, the film is expected to earn in crores on first day at the box office.

And just before the release of the film, rumours started on social media that Akshay will donate the opening day earnings to the people affected due to the earthquake.

Twitterati also tweeted that "if you want to donate to Nepal earthquake victim, buy the first day tickets of Akshay's movie."

Rubbishing all the reports, Akshay said that he is not the producer of the film so its not his call to make.

"Heard a rumour that I am donating #GabbarIsBack's 1st day collections to the #NepalEarthquake victims. Firstly I am not the producer so that's not my call to make and more importantly I don't need to wait for the film's release to do my bit," he tweeted.

He further shared a link where people can donate money and help victims of the massive 7.9 magnitude earthquake that jolted Nepal on Saturday.

"Gabbar Is Back" is a masala entertainer produyced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Viacom18 Motion Pictures. The film, which is directed by Krish, is a remake of 2002 Tamil hit film "Ramanaa".
