The ultra-cheap Android smartphone will be available on Wednesday, 19 August, starting at 12pm exclusively via Snapdeal for registered buyers. Registrations for the sale close at 8pm Tuesday, 18 August. Those who fail to register must wait till the next week for a second chance.
Micromax Canvas Spark's main highlight is the reasonably impressive specs offered at a really low price. The India-based smartphone manufacturer has managed to sell the handset in great numbers in its weekly flash sales in India. It has crossed the five-lakh figure since the launch in April.
As for the handset's specs, the Canvas Spark features a 4.7-inch qHD display with 960 x 540 pixel resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core Cortex A7 MediaTek MT6582M processor, 1GB LPDDR3 RAM and 8GB expandable storage up to 32GB.
The Canvas Spark offers an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera with LED flash and a 2MP front-facing snapper for selfies. Powered by Google's latest Android 5.0 Lollipop OS, Canvas Spark promises up to seven hours of talktime with a 2,000mAh battery.
In addition to that, Canvas Spark also offers support for up to 21 languages and has a Reverie language pack. To make the handset more appealing to Indian buyers, it is paired with a free data offer from Vodafone, where users get free 500MB on 2G/3G for two months. The offer must be activated within 48 hours after inserting a Vodafone SIM.
