It's almost six months since the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) Non-Technical Popular Category (NTPC) exam 2016 was conducted but its results are yet to be declared, leaving the candidates frustrated. Reports have suggested a contradictory timeframe for the declaration of the results, which doesn't help the cause of the aspirants.

Anil Kumar Saxena, Additional Director General (PR), Railways Board, sparked off rumours that the NTPC stage 1 examination results 2016 would be declared either on October 14 or 15 after he claimed that it would be out in the first fortnight of October, but it didn't happen. It was then reported that the results would be announced in November, and not in October as speculated.

As if that's not confusing enough for the candidates, it has now emerged that the RRB NTPC results 2016 will be declared next week. However, there is nothing to substantiate the report, as the RRB hasn't officially announced it. Candidates can check the results once they have been declared at the Indian Railways official website indianrailways.gov.in and 21 official RRB zone and regional sites.

A total of 93 lakh candidates applied for the examination and about 56 lakh actually appeared for it. Nearly 2,73,780 candidates will be through to the main examination, expected to held sometime in November or December, 2016, and only 18,272 will be selected for final recruitment.

The Railway Recruitment Board is recruiting for several posts namely, Commercial Apprentice (CA), Traffic Apprentice (TA), Enquiry-cum-Reservation Clerk (ECRC), Goods Guard, Senior Clerk-cum-Typist, Junior Accounts Assistant-cum-Typist (JAA), Assistant Station Master (ASM), Traffic Assistant and Senior Time Keeper in the Indian Railways.
